3 ways to change the world without being a fighter, activist or politician.

Jesus calls you kings. I say that a lot. But He also calls you priests (Rev 1:6, 1 Pet 2:9). You are a royal priesthood, not according to the Old Testament style - where only a few individuals from one tribe were called to be priests - but according to the New Covenant of Christ, where you are made like Him. Read on to see how God has called us to bless the world and discover your priesthood!

1) Don't pray like the world prays.

This is how the world prays - with begging, supplication and uncertainty, with grandiose words uttered to a God in heaven, with much beating the chest and many tears. My friends, you are sons and daughters of God, seated with Him in the very presence of His throne room (I'm not making this up, see Eph 2:6). You can approach His throne any time, as much as you like and with whatever request you choose (Heb 4:16, John 16:24).  You can approach, not with humility of slaves, but the with the honor of beloved sons and that is exactly what you are! You can be sure He hears you, not far from far away as if your prayers need to traverse the galaxy before it reaches His ears because He hears you from within His bosom and from His heart because that is where you are to Him! So step up to His throne, pray boldly and confidently, knowing the will of the Lord, and be assured that He hears you. 

Bomber verse: "Thus says the LORD, The Holy One of Israel, and his Maker: "Ask Me of things to come concerning My sons; And concerning the work of My hands, you command Me." Isa 45:11

2) Know God's will.

How do you know God's will for your nation, your people, or city? Look at Jesus. He is the perfect image of God (2 Cor 4:4, Col 1:15). Do you know what that means? It means His actions, His words and His life speak about the true nature of God which has been corrupted and maligned for millenia because the Law, fear of death and uncertainty of God's love reigned supreme over man. All these things were put to a final end on the cross. Hence, if Jesus healed - you can trust it's God's will to bring healing to your land and people. If Jesus blessed the peacemakers - you can trust God that it's His will to bring peace, from within and without, to your country. If Jesus liberated the oppressed and honored the undignified - you can trust that it's God will to bring a lasting freedom and dignity to your people. Get the drift? 

"For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men's lives but to save them." Luke 9:56

3) Start blessing your nation.

Listen to Solomon's wisdom of heaven: "By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted, But it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked." (Prov 11:11). You are the upright, the righteous of your house, family, tribe, city, nation, people and land. You are righteous because Jesus gave you His righteousness. Now the priests of the Law were those who pronounced blessing on their people even to the point that they declared their sins forgiven. You can not only do the same, but far more because you are of the order of Jesus Christ, "the Lamb of God who took away the sins of the world". There are always naysayers, warmongers and harbingers of doom and destruction. They are pessimists, hateful, racists and arrogant, constantly cursing and maligning, speaking evil on their lands. You're privileged as a priest of Christ; you have the authority, not just to nullify every evil word, but to bless all you care about. From your right pinky finger to the restoration of an entire people from slavery... you can start doing this, just by opening your mouth and blessing! 

"'I create the fruit of the lips: Peace, peace to him who is far off and to him who is near,' Says the LORD, 'And I will heal him.'" Isa 57:19 

Does this sound to fantastic for you? I know. It might. "Woohoo, this guy is crazy." you might say. I honestly, don't see why you would though. You're probably reading this because you 'believe' that Jesus died and rose again. What I'm talking about is peanuts compared to that. 

Don't be afraid... especially of being called a fool. Start sowing according to your priestly calling. And I tell you, we shall see a glorious harvest come to bloom. Just try it!
