Become the man and woman God made you to be
“For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age...” Heb. 5:13,14
Some say that the church is in its infancy. Bondage to the fear of death and all its subsidiaries (failure, sickness, poverty, etc) on the one hand and great stress and worry on the other hand pervade the believers of Jesus. You know why that is the case? Because we are “unskilled in the word of righteousness”. What is the word of righteousness? It is the good news that declares “your sins are forgiven”. It is the good news that declares “you will never be punished for anything you have done”! It is the good news that declares “you are now deserving of every blessing of heaven because of what Christ has done!" Not understanding that you are truly forgiven opens the door for condemnation and guilt, worry and fear; it makes you vulnerable to the enemy’s schemes because you falsely believe that you are worthy of punishment and undeserving of your Father’s blessings. Sure, you do not deserve them, but Jesus became sin so "that we might become the righteousness of God in Him" (2 Cor 5:21) and therefore all blessings that Jesus deserves, you now deserve. Therefore I say to you today, “awake to your righteousness” and live as forgiven and righteous sons and daughters of God! And see just how strong and glorious you shall become.
