Here's the real reason why you are not satisfied

Every son and daughter of God should long for "more". But there is a good longing and there is a falling-short kind of longing.

Recently, I have had my "longings" and in their midst much confusion reigned in my mind. I am not sure what it is but I am not satisfied. I say maybe if I went here or did that or when this happens it will be better. We think that our satisfaction is elsewhere so we move from one place to another. We think that our satisfaction is not in this time so we long for the past or wait for the future. We are under the impression that circumstances, some in our control and some that are not, actually control us... and you know, if we take this mere impression and begin to think it as truth, it becomes manifest as a heart full of longing, desires unfulfilled which make the heart sick (Prov 13:12). But this is not the right kind of longing.

This is a longing that makes your eyes turn away from the Cross and unto the world. Please, let me de-cliche the word 'Cross'... I mean it takes away our eyes from the love of God made so evident as His Son hung on the Cross. John said if we love the world - the pleasures of life and the world and these passing pleasures - God's love cannot abide in us (1 John 2:15). He's not saying not to enjoy the Creation and the Blessings of God but that when our longing is in outward circumstances and situations then we become blind to God's love.

God's love is desperate to enter your heart and permeate every fiber of your body, but for this to happen your eye must be open to it, it must be centered on the One in whom all our Desire is met fully.

If I am being a little mystical, it is because this is mystical but there a practical word here too.

As God's children, we have the Divine Longings of Life, Truth, Compassion and Love etched deep into the truest, most real regions of our identity. Sometimes we become blind to God's love and the spiritual reality that we have and live in because of our faith in Jesus. As has been said somewhere wisely, like a man who covers the view of the mountain on the horizon with just the palm of our hands, so have many of us covered the gigantic weight and glory of God's promises, power and love for us. We go about blinded by the palm - earthly life and earthly cares that distract us. These cares are legitimate but when we magnify them and focus exclusively on them we lose sight of beautiful promises God has for us.

You see, you are already complete in Jesus, the Messiah, you are whole, wholly whole. And holy too! There is nothing lacking anymore.
As God "rested" after He worked for six days so we are in this rest, the rest that was announced on the Cross, "It is finished!". It is finished and we but have to enter into this rest.

There is no more lack of righteousness. Why do you feel guilty if you have been made righteous in Christ and robed constantly in His righteousness?

There is no more regret because He is the redeemer who redeems time and souls alike. Remember His promises that no amount of anything in the existence that we find ourselves in can ever separate us from this Powerful, Glorious Love of God. (Rom 8:38,39).

There is no more lack of provision and finances even when you feel the pinch of hunger and discomfort because He is your Father. Open your eyes and see how close the Creator of All things is to you, as a Father, as a Brother, as a Friend, as the One who loves us infinitely. You say "But I need the money..." Open your eyes then and see not with the fleshy eye but the righteous eye, the eye that says with the Bible "I am the Righteousness of Christ" and "My God shall supply all my needs according to His riches in Christ." Jesus said that  "If your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light." This was said about money and being generous.

What shall we say now about sickness? That there is no more sickness? If there is sickness that plagues you remember the Lord, take the bread remembering His Body on the Cross and take the a cup of wine/juice/ or even water and remember the Blood of the New Covenant. REMEMBER... bring it back to your mind. Remember, this because "by His Stripes you ARE healed" and He is always willing to heal and protect and keep you.

There is much more to say. But these mystical musings will end here for now.

Yeshua bless you and keep you.
Yeshua shine His face on you and favor you.
Yeshua lift his face on you and grant you His Shalom.

Amen and Amen.
