Like Father like son

"With the merciful You will show Yourself merciful; With a blameless man You will show Yourself blameless; with the pure You will show Yourself pure; and with the devious You will show Yourself shrewd." Ps 18:25,26

You're created in the image of God. That is why the way you see yourself will always reflect on whom you think God is. Bitterness and malice in the heart will create in you an image of an angry and fickle god. And a loveless soul can not grasp that God is love. Yet few of God's children see themselves as they really are.

Paul said that when we show ourselves as full of life, holy in every way and very pleasing to God, we demonstrate just how wonderful His plans for us are (Rom 12:1,2). That’s possible because the Spirit of God is what gives life to your body; the blood of Jesus is what sets you apart making you holy; and by His love God delights in you greatly!

You see, Jesus beat death out of you that no curse or blemish can touch you. We used to be called unholy by the law, the same law that we could never keep, but Jesus once and for all nailed it to the cross 2000 years ago. And even the condemnation – that some thought came from God but only came from our hearts as we fumbled through our days – has forever been judged so that you might be glad in the fact that your Father is so pleased in you. So much has your identity been meshed with Jesus Christ's, that now we can say that "we are in this world, just as He is!" (1 John 4:17).

There is much joy for the child of God who sees himself as He truly is. Its time you stopped seeing yourself as weak, sinful and wretched. You are the apple of God's eye and He sees so much beauty in you. Instead, understand you are created in God's image, you are like Him and you even smell of Him!
