I am willing

“Then Jesus, moved with compassion, stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, ‘I am willing; be cleansed.’” Mark 1:41

Since the beginning of time for man, Satan has planted seeds of fear into the hearts of human kind. It is not fear of the unknown, calamity or even himself. It is a dread that God brings forth death, disease and destruction upon the sons of men. People have lived for millennia cowering in fear, not knowing when God would strike them with disaster. It is a fear of God Himself. A stroke is caused by a clot of blood that stops its flow to parts of the brain; stroke victims can sometimes be paralyzed for life. It’s called a ‘stroke’ because it was believed that God was striking the victims with His hand. There is nothing further from the Truth! Can you imagine Jesus doing this to somebody? On the cross, it was the Son of God, not us, who received the ‘stroke’ of God’s hand and it was His blood that flowed for our cleansing! He “redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us” (Gal 3:13) so that we would never be held guilty, always be blessed and forever live in His presence… God crushed His Son that the curse would never even touch you! Yet sadly 2000 years after Jesus cast out the curse, many are still full of doubt about what God’s will is for their lives. Some pray for the healing of loved ones and add “if it is Your will!” Others tell their companions that they will get through their troubles “if God is willing!” I am sure our Father’s heart beaks with pain when He hears you saying this. Today, choose to change your mind about God’s will; don’t believe that He allows or brings about calamity in your life – that is precisely how you will begin to prove that the will of God “is good, acceptable and perfect” for you! And it truly is! (Rom 12:2)
