What do you want Me to do for you?

He asked him, saying, "What do you want Me to do for you?" Luke 18:40,41

Imagine a beggar comes to you and asks you the above question. I probably would say that I didn’t need anything and would proceed to ask the same back to him. If my boss asked me the same question, I’d probably ask for a raise. If a very wealthy man asked me the same, I’d ask for something even greater. But what happens when you call out to Jesus, He stands still, looks at your eyes, and says, ‘What do you want Me to do for you?’. How you answer really depends on whom you see Jesus as. If you see him as a beggar, you’d ask Him for nothing. What if you see Him as a good person? Your Lord? If you see Him for who he truly is, Son of God, King of kings, Saviour and Creator… good! But even then you might be overcome by a consciousness of your unworthiness and somehow feel that you have to give something to Him. Do you know how Jesus sees you? He sees you as His brother and sister. He calls you ‘My Friend’. He’s see the whole body of believers as His bride. We’re family in the closest way for Him. So go on, answer the question today, He is waiting to hear from you and delights it even more when you are bold enough to ask Him for your deepest desires of your heart. Its His pleasure!
