Be filled with your Father's fullness

"… that you would know the love of Christ which passes knowledge." Eph. 3:19

Have you ever seen a child playing wildly and freely with his parents only become so timid and quite in the presence of strangers? This is only natural as a child knows he's accepted with his family but lacks that assurance with outsiders. Yet in the presence of their heavenly Father, God's children are often shy and reserved! The next time you throw a party at your house, try this: while the party is going good and people are happily eating and enjoying each other's company, stand up and say two words, "Let's pray". Wow, what a way to spoil a party! I really believe that the best thing you can do for a celebration is to bring Jesus to it! After all, He was no party pooper; remember how He saved the wedding feast from running out of wine (John 2)? When we can not be ourselves before God it is because we simply don't know how loved we are; that God's looks on you with a smile, and as He said to His Son Jesus, He also says to you "You are My beloved son and I'm proud of you! I'm pleased in you! I'm so delighted to be your Father!". Paul prayed that we would come to grasp, ever increasingly just how grand God's love for us is so that we will "be filled with all the fullness of God!" (Eph. 3:19). And when you are filled, to overflowing, with all of the Father's fullness, what great things you shall do for His glory! How blessed people will be in your presence! How much peace and grace will flow out of your hearts to all those around you! Remember today your Father’s love for you and feel free to be who you truly are in His embrace.
