Jerusalem 2017- Did Trump just kickstart these 3 Bible prophecies?
1917 - The Balfour Declaration states the commitment of the British Empire to establish a home for Jews in the Land known then as Palestine.
1967 (50 years later) - the modern State of Israel conquers all of Jerusalem in a six day war and now encompasses territory from the Mediterranean to the Jordan River.
2017 (50 years after 1967, 100 years after the Balfour Declaration) - President of the US, Donald Trump announces they recognize that Jerusalem is the capital of the modern State of Israel.
Are we seeing events following the biblical pattern of seven periods of seven years plus one called the "Jubilee" concerning Jerusalem?
Some verses to consider:
Something will happen in Zion (Jerusalem) in the Last Generation.
You will arise and have mercy on Zion; For the time to favor her, Yes, the set time, has come. For Your servants take pleasure in her stones, And show favor to her dust. So the nations shall fear the name of the Lord, And all the kings of the earth Your glory. For the Lord shall build up Zion; He shall appear in His glory. He shall regard the prayer of the destitute, And shall not despise their prayer. This will be written for the last generation [Hebrew: Dor Acharon], That a people yet to be created may praise the Lord. David, Ps 102:13-18
Paul spoke about the salvation of Israel coming from Jerusalem (Zion = Jerusalem in the Bible) and receiving of the New Covenant of Grace as Jews begin to accept en masse Yeshua as the Lamb and Son of God who takes away their sins and the sins of the world.
I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers and sisters, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in, and in this way all Israel will be saved. As it is written: “The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob. And this is my covenant with them when I take away their sins.” Paul, Rom 11:25-27
In the midst of many nations gathering against Israel (we might be seeing this now), we see the Yehudim realizing that they "pierced" and crucified their Messiah who is God. They will receive the New Covenant of Grace.
And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on Me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for Him as one mourns for an only Child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son. On that day the weeping in Jerusalem will be as great as the weeping of Hadad Rimmon in the plain of Megiddo. The land will mourn..." Zech 12:10-12
