Meditation for when you sin
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.1 John 1:7
You're here because you feel unclean. You've sinned again. If that's you this is for you.
Today, I want to show you what happens to your guilt.
Get in a seated position, breathe in deeply, hold your breathe and then exhale... as you inhale, let his mercy flow into you and as you exhale, let the weight of your sins be released to Him.
And now as you read these words, use your mind's eye and imagine what you read.
You're before a fountain in a garden, there are stone walls somewhere in the garden, making it an enclosure. This enclosure is in fact your Father. He has hemmed you in on every side, protecting you. There is the fountain, it is in the middle. Trees grow around it, sun streaming through their leaves, flowers coloring the whole scene, both near the ground and high up.
The water is flowing through the fountain. Hear it gushing forth continuously. It waters all the plants and trees in this enclosure so that even if there is drought, they are always vibrant. Now that you are listening, you notice the sound of melodic birds. Each one reminding you of Jesus' words, "though they neither sow nor reap, your Heavenly Father feeds them."
If the enclosure is the Father, the fountain is Jesus, it's water His blood. Does it stay stagnant? Or is it constantly flowing? He is the well that shall never dry. His blood is all powerful, capable of removing the strongest stain of sin, so strong that it has cleansed you of ALL yours - past, present and future.
Do you see it? Now you can rise and walk in this joy. Your constantly forgiven. And that makes you want to stay and linger more in this garden.
