Could this be the real reason why the Name of God is no longer pronounced by Jews?
I find some things very ironic about the Jewish people, a
people close to my heart. For example, thought the Temple with the Ark of the
Covenant and all its daily and special sacrifices were the central theme of
this covenant (which we call the Old Covenant) today Judaism is so different
from this type of Biblical Judaism. In my view, this was one of the most
obvious signs that this Old Covenant administered by Moses was fulfilled (not
cancelled, abolished or put in a rubbish bin!) but fulfilled in every way.

The second thing is how today’s Jews do not pronounce God’s
name. I don’t understand how they can accept being the people of God, named after Him, and yet have either
forgotten how to pronounce God's Name or are being deliberately kept in the dark about His Name (I tend to think its the former).
The reason for both of these is due to the emergence of
Talmudic Judaism. The predecessor of this now dominant form of Judaism were
actually the Pharisees of Jesus’ time and include Saul’s (Paul’s old name) teacher,
Gamaliel. Talmudic Judaism removed the centrality and direct connection of the
Jews to the books that comprise the Tanakh or Old Testament. The Prophets and
Writings (e.g. Psalms, Proverbs, etc) became even less important. The Talmud’s
commentaries on the Torah were developed exceedingly and today the spirit
of Judaism is one of not only simply obeying God’s commandments but going an extra mile to ensure that
His Laws are not broken. Of course, there are degrees of how far this is taken but the essence is the same – a righteousness obtained by
obeying the Law WITHOUT the Temple and sacrifices is the essence of the Talmud.
So on the surface, the reason God’s name is not pronounced,
is really within this type of Talmudic thought – “We don’t want to even give
ourselves a chance to say The Name in vain so we will never pronounce
altogether, not even when we read the Scriptures.”
O the guileness of the devil!
Make no mistake of it, there was not such regulation nor is
there ANY Law in the Bible that say you can pronounce the tetragrammation of
Yahowa (yod-he-vav-he). None what so ever! It is written “And whoever shall
call on The Name of YAHOWA shall be saved.” The Talmudic man-made law disqualified one
of the most quintessential precepts of Biblical Judaism and the Tanakh.
This was echoed by Kephas (Peter) who said, “There is no
salvation in any other, for there is no other Name under the Heavens that has
been given among men in which it behoves us to be saved.” Acts 4:12
So you want to really know why the Jews have been cajoled by a
mindset of false godliness when it comes to God’s name?
Because Yeshua revealed the True Name above all other names.
It is YAHOWA SAVES, i.e. YESHUA. So on the one hand The Name of God has been forgotten and on the other all is done to keep the Jewish people covered with the ancient spiritual Veil (cf Exo 34:35, 2 Cor 3:13) from seeing The Revealed Name – Yeshua.
It is no coincidence that these unbiblical regulations came
into effect after the Crucifixion of Jesus, His Resurrection and the events
that unfolded in Jerusalem in the decades that followed. Slowly, the Jews began to blind themselves from the Name of the God of their Fathers (through the Talmud) and from
the Name of God’s only Begotten Son (also through the Talmud).
Years ago, David cried out the Name of Jesus and the Name of
Yahowa. They are One. See for yourself (Ps 27:1).
Yahowa (God's Name) Ori (is my Light) wa (and) Yeshua-i (My Salvation) mimay (from who) ayrah (I shall fear)!
Here’s to the veil being taken away in the Messiah Jesus.
Amen.
